WORDS OF ENCOURAGEMENT

Rise Up

Let you speech be alway with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man.
                                                                Colossians 4:6 (KJV)

I received a text message of a screen shot from someone close to me. The screen shot was of comments being made about an incident that involved the person recently.

Be Thankful

Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.
                                                 Psalm 100:4

A truly thankful person is a truly peaceful person. They've created a habit, that no matter what, they will notice, pause, and choose- choosing to be thankful regardless of the circumstances.

As Thanksgiving Day is approaching, let us choose to notice something for which we can be thankful for; pause, so that we can acknowledge this something as a reminder of the presence of God; and choose to focus on God's presence until His peace is unleashed in our lives.

Possessions As Masters

For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
                                            Matthew 6:21

Have you ever notice how the material things we possess have become our masters instead of us mastering them. We make purchases based on our desires-homes, cars, cell phones, computer gadgets, etc., only to find that the very thing we had to have is the thing or things that's stressing us out.

Loyal To Dysfunction

For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he....
                          Proverbs 23:7

I read this article in Home Business Magazine titled,  New Habits: Break Out of That Rut which stated that "fear and self-limiting beliefs create imaginary boundaries that keep us from acting in our own best interest." Reason being is that our brain is wired to resist change. Getting stuck in a rut doesn't happen overnight, but slowly over a period of time as we think or behave in the same way.

Enjoy The Journey

These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.
                                                 Jesus (John 16:33)

We have been forewarned concerning the tribulation we shall endure. We have also been encouraged to be of good cheer because Jesus has overcome the world. What steps have you taken to enjoy your life in spite of the troubles that come?

The Struggle Is Real

For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I. For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing; for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not. O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death?
                                                           Romans 7:15, 18, 24

Let Not The Sun Go Down On Your Wrath

Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath.
                                         Ephesians 4:26

There are many opportunities in any given day for us to become angry. Though being angry is not a bad thing, we are told to not let the sun go down (going to bed ) and we are still angry. We should have come to a resolve concerning the situation.

Personally, I have learned that even if I can't get a resolve with the individual, I can come to a resolve within myself that allows me to be in compliance with this scripture.
