For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I. For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing; for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not. O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death?
Romans 7:15, 18, 24
As believers in Jesus Christ, we struggle within ourselves to do that which is right according to the Word of God. In this scripture, the Apostle Paul is struggling in the same area. Knowing what to do and doing it are two different things; especially when what is the right thing to do goes against what we have been doing or have found comfort in doing for so long.
Accepting this truth about ourselves is half the battle. Doing something about it the another part. Having come into the knowledge of this truth, what would it take for you to stop trusting in yourself, and start putting your trust in God, the only One who can deliver you-from you?
