"Friends Or Frienemies?"

Faithful are the wounds of a friend; but the kisses of an enemy are deceitful. Prov. 26:6
How many of us would honestly admit that we would love to have people around us who are just like us-they agree with everything we say or do, they have the same interest we have in movies, books, music, art, etc.? Basically, there aren't many differences (at least none that will make us uncomfortable). Now how many of us would honestly agree that that is not a healthy relationship?
The above scripture tells us that faithful are the wounds of a friend. Meaning, a friend will speak the truth in love (see Ephesians 4:15). A friend will not agree with you on things that he/she know are incorrect. A friend will not allow you to put yourself in harms way, whether it is with wrong thinking, wrong motives, or wrong behavior. What a friend will do is always have your best interest at heart, advising you out of compassion and love that will guide you in the right direction; even if it means that you get upset with them. A friend's intentions are always in your best interest, not theirs.
The latter part of that scripture says that the kisses of an enemy are deceitful. You know, those yes people we love to have in our lives who agree with everything we say or do; even when they know we are wrong-even  when we know we are wrong). Though we are all tempted to cling to "yes people," they are not the ones we should cling to. They do us more harm than good. We need people in our lives who will edify, motivate, inspire, an encourage us to be better than we are. Not people who will keep us stagnate an unproductive.
Start today by taking inventory of your friendships. Who have you allowed in your inner circle? Are they doing you more harm than good or are they creating an environment that will encourage you to grow on a daily basis?  Do they challenge your thinking? Do they challenge you to rise higher than where you are? Do they believe in you and your dreams? Think about it. You owe it to yourself to be surrounded with true friends, not "frienemies!" BE BLESSED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Whenever I feel down and questioning heaven about my life's miseries, I make it to the point to read your bible verses here. Suddenly, I feel renewed again and ready for another setback.
