The Joy Of The Lord

...For the joy of the LORD is your strength. Nehemiah 8:10
There is so much power in having the joy of the Lord. Anyone who has experienced the joy of the Lord during times of difficulty, understands the importance of not just having it, but treasuring it. As people, we are and tend to be on many occassions emotional beings. There are some people who allow their emotions to control them, while others aim to control their emotions. However, regardless to which category you fall into, one must remember that true joy comes from God. It comes from realizing and remembering all the victories you have won through Jesus Christ. It comes from knowing where you help comes from. And it also comes from constantly reminding yourself that the battle is not yours; but the Lord. It is He that has allowed this battle to happen, and it is He whom the battle will be won through our faith and obedience to His Word.
We must remember that joy is a preferred emotional state. It has to be pursued just as happiness has to be pursued. We have to want it wholeheartedly. Joy is also a necessary element in attaining full recovery. Who could you convince that you have confidence in God if every time something goes wrong in your life, you are walking around looking sad with your head hung down? Or when the battle is over and you have won, all you can talk about is what the enemy tried to do to you instead of praising God for what He did for you.
As Christians, we must make sure that we meditate on the Word of God day and night. We should not let the Word of God depart from us at any time (that is, if you plan on being victorious). We are overcomers, we are more than conquerors. But in order to be these things, we must have something to overcome and conquer - hence trials/tribulations.
Remember: When we are pushed into a trial, we must become the governor of our emotions; not allowing them to get out of control. We must take authority and rule over our feelings, choosing joy as our dominant emotion. TAKE CONTROL OF YOUR EMOTIONS INSTEAD OF THEM TAKING CONTROL OF YOU! BE BLESSED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
