For the LORD thy God bringeth thee into a good land, a land of brooks of water, of fountains and depths that spring out of valleys and hills; A land of wheat, and barley, and vines, and fig trees, and promegranates; a land of olive oil, and honey; A land wherein thou shalt eat bread without scarceness, thou shalt not lack any thing in it; a land whose stones are iron, and out of whose hills thou mayest dig brass. Deuteronomy 8:7-9
Here we have the Israelites going from the land of lack, through the land of even, into the land of plenty. God was directing them every step of the way. He provided for them from the beginning to the end. They didn't have a need that was not met, and yet they complained every step of the way. They couldn't get passed where they had been to even begin to notice where they were going. Their old way of thinking prevented them (the orginal Israelites-those who were slaves), from possessing what God told them was theirs.
Now check yourself. How many times have we been guilty of the same thing? How many times have we read the promises God has made to us, but have allowed circumstances to keep us obtaining them? Or how many times have our old way of thinking, kept us from possessing that which God has told us is ours?
I have found through consistent studying that the Bible is not just a book of principles that we should live by, it is also a blueprint for how we can receive all that God has promised us. He specifically lay out for us how we can received the blessings He has stored up for us. We just have to do what it takes to get them.
God is no respecter of person. He wants the best for all of us. Just as He wanted everyone of the Israelites to live in abundance (sadly only two of the original Israelites who came out of Egypt actually crossed over the Jordan and lived in the promised land-the land of plenty), He wants us too to live in abundance.
Each generation seems to face the same situation-only a few people enter into the best God has provided for them through Jesus Christ, while the majority barely gets by; having no joy and peace. They struggle and struggle, hearing of a better land, but not understanding why they can't reside there.
Purpose to be the one who makes it all the way to the Promised Land. Remember that God has abundance for you; be determine to live in it! BE BLESSED!!!!!!
