Asking With Purpose

In Gibeon the LORD appeared to Solomon in a dream by night: and God said, Ask what I shall give thee. Give therefore thy servant an understanding heart to judge thy people, that I may discern between good and bad: for who is able to judge this thy so great a people? 1 Kings 3:5,9
If God told you you could ask for anything you wanted, what would it be? Have you ever given any thought to that question? Upon pondering this question, I had to really give some thought to it. Then my mind took me to my daily prayers; what am I asking God for on a regular basis. Because whatever that is, then that is what I would ask for. The reason being is that the Bible tells us that out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaketh. That being the case, then whatever we are saying often and with ease, is what we would ask God for.
One thing I pray for regularly is for God's wisdom, knowledge, and understanding of His Word, and to do and say things that are pleasing to Him. I can't bear the thought of God being displeased with me. Because I am a visual learner, I always seem to get this vision of God looking down at me with His arms folded, shaking His head with displeasure when I have done something, or not done something He has told me to do. It brings tears to my eyes now at the thought. So I am constantly checking my thoughts, behavior, attitude, and motives. I want to make sure they are in alignment with God's Word and Will for my life.
What about you?  Are you seeking God for those things that will please Him? Or are you so caught up in your desires that you haven't given it much thought? Well today is a new day. Ask yourself if whether or not the things you are seeking God for will be beneficial to you, Him, and His kingdom. BE BLESSD!!!!!!!!
