But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith: Meekness, temperance... Galatians 5:22-23
Are you operating in the fruit of the Spirit? Can people tell by your behavior/lifestyle that you are a Christians? These are questions that we need to ask ourselves often.
In Matthew 7:20, Jesus teaches us that we will know each other by our fruit. Meaning, you want have to ask someone if whether or not they are a Christian; you should be able to see through their lives that they are.
Are you producing good or bad fruit? Being a follower of Christ affords us the opportunity to operate in the fruit of the Spirit on a daily basis. Though there may be times where we fall short, the Holy Spirit gives us an opportunity to get it right. The Spirit unctions us when we are about to make a mistake or bad choice (there's a difference), and warns us and/or reminds us that if we make that choice, that we will be outside the will of God.
The Holy Spirit was sent to us to help do the things that are required of us as children of God, that in our own strength and way of thinking is impossible for us to do. That's why it is so important for us to continue to seek the Lord for guidance and direction in our lives. We think we know what's best for us, but only God knows what's truly best for us. Therefore, we need to have total faith and trust in His leadership abilities as well as His Sovereign Power to get the job done on our behalf.
Each day that we are faced with challenges such as sitting in traffic, standing in long lines, someone being rude to us, etc., that we can operate in the nine fruit of the Spirit. The only way to continuously operate in them is to constantly practice them. Even when you fall short, pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and get back on the right track. Ask the Holy Spirit to help you- He will. BE BLESSED!
...Yet ye have not, because ye ask not. James 4:2
