We are told in Matthew 6:33 that if we seek the kingdom of God and his righteousness, that everything else will be added to us. So the question of today is, "What does it mean to seek the kingdom?" I think seeking the kingdom means to seek God on every aspect of our lives. Seeking Him for wisdom, knowledge, understanding of His Word. Seeking Him on how we are to behave, our attitude toward people(whether they have hurt us or offend us), how to love one another as He has loved us, how to manage our finance, our roles in the family, among other things.
Seeking the kingdom of God allows us total access to God's provision. When we seek Him, it shows God that we acknowledge that we trust and depend on Him for guidance and direction. It also acknowledges that we can't do anything successfully without Him.
Just as we trust and depended in our parents to provide for us as children, we too should have that same trust and dependency our God our Father. He is the only One who will never leave us nor forsake us. He is the only One who will never change. He is the only One who can make promises and keep every one. In Him is where our strength lies. With Him, the impossible has been made possible. WHAT A MIGHTY GOD WE SERVE!
Having pondered this question over a period of time, has given me a clearer insight on what it means to "seek the kingdom." It has allowed me to reevaluate some areas in my life to make sure that I have invited God into them. It has made me more aware to invite God into my daily activites; acknowledging that I need Him in every area of my life. I know that it is only through His grace and mercy that I have been granted another day. And this day was given for a reason. Whether I know the particular reason at that time is irrevelant. What is revelant is that if I ask Him, He will tell me what I need to do, when I need to do it, and how I need to do it.
Take some time to ponder today's question. See what area the Lord will lead and guide you to include Him in. YOU'LL BE GLAD YOU DID! BE BLESSED
