Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment? Matthew 6:25
Isn't it amazing how life challenges can get us so off course that we forget about this scripture? Lately I have been dealing with a lot of challenges in my life; You know, being everything to everybody (woman of many hats). During this time, it has gotten to be a bit overwhelming to the point where I feel it is taking every bit of my soul to keep my head above water-literally. However, it doesn't have to be this way. Matthew 6:25 clearly tells me to take no thought for my life. The interesting part about this, is that it is not my life that I am concerned with. It's the lives of those that have been entrusted to me.
I continue to ask myself the question, "How can I get my perception of the responsibilities that have been delegated to me, to line up with this scripture that God has given me?" Then it dawn on me that it is my perception of the situation that will have to change inorder for me to feel differently about the situation. I have to take this Word that God has given me, and apply it also to this situation as well. It's funny how we pick certain situations to apply God's Word to when He has clearly told us that theWord works for every situation. I guess I got so caught up in being there for eveyone that I forgot to apply the Word to the situation-until of course I started to sink.
What about you? Are you taking on God's role as Savior or are you allowing Him to do what only He can do? It comes naural for us to just jump in and do whatever it is that is expected of us: even though we know it is too much. However, God is waiting on us to ask Him for the help we so desperately need. Don't allow yourself to be swallowed up with responsibilities that only God can help you perform. Cast your cares on Him and watch Him show Himself strong on your behalf. IN JESUS' NAME, AMEN.
