Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.
I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. John 15:4-5
Q. How much fruit do you see being produced in your life?
If you are not able to answer this question now, hopefully by the time you finish reading this blog, you will be.
Below, you will find a list of four baskets. Each basket represents our lives and the fruit we bear. It is up to you to be the judge of your fruit basket. Noone else can do it for you, nor can you do it for someone else. Take the information given, and use it to edify your spiritual walk with God.
BASKET#1- "no fruit" Just as some branches bear no fruit, so can some Christians who are not obeying the Word of God.
BASKET #2- "fruit" Some branches have produce some fruit - Christians who are receiving few results based on their level of obedience.
BASKET #3- "more fruit" This basket is more than half full, so are the lives of Christians who are faithfully obeying the Word of God.
BASKET#4- "much fruit" This basket overflows with fruit, so does the life of Christians who are consistently, faithfully, and wholeheartedly obeying the Word of God.
Jesus uses this correlation of the vineyard to show us just as a vineyard needs a husbandman to tend to its every need, so do we. We need God to take care of our every need as well. There is nothing we can do without Him. Because Jesus is the true vine, and we as Christians are called to be Christ like in every way, we are to look to Jesus for the help we need, who in turns seeks the Father on our behalf. How much fruit we produce in our lives depends on our obedience to the Word of God, and our level of faith. Therefore, it is an individual walk. What's mine is mine, and what's yours is yours.
How much we believe in God and His Word, and operate according to it, will determine the amount of fruit we produce in our lives. If you are not producing the amount of fruit that you desire, reevaluate your life. See if you are living according to God's will for you. If not, then you know what you have to do.
Remember: YOU ARE THE ONLY ONE WHO DETERMINES HOW MUCH FRUIT YOU WILL BEAR ACCORDING TO YOUR WILLINGNESS TO OBEY THE WORD OF GOD.
If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned. John 15:6
