Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath: For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God. James 1:19-20
There are times that we can become so frustrated with life challenges, making decisions, or just having to deal with unpleasant people that we can forget how God has told us to handle these situations. We allow our emotions to get the best of us, which causes us to respond in an ungodly way. We respond out of our flesh instead of our spirit. So as a reminder as to how we can make sure we respond correctly at any given time, listed below are some techniques that will aid you in your effort to calm during times of frustrations. I hope that you find them as helpful as I have.
Techniques that will help you to calm down:
*take a walk *journal your feelings *deep breathing
*exercise *find a peaceful environment *make a positive confession
*take time to pray *talk to a friend *speak to yourself in Psalms
*listen to music *read a book
*take a hot bath *get a massage
The key is to find one that works best for you so that you won't say or do things you shouldn't. Remember: our daily goal is to live a life that is pleasing to God. It is a known fact that frustrated people usually offend people and create a bigger mess.
Note: It is easier to move yourself physically than it is to move yourself mentally.
Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with the meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls. But be ye doers of the word and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. James 1:21-22
