"The Invitation"

Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Matthew 11:28
What a wonderful invitation that has been extended to all of us who believe in the Lord Jesus! This is the best invitation that anyone could ever receive. If you have ever received an invitation, you know that usually the invitation is about the person sending the invitation or who the event is for. This invite is different; this invitation has been extended to us by Jesus himself, given us something that we stand desperately in need of; REST! If you are one of the million Christians who are burden down with the responsibities of day to day living-taking care of spouse/children and other love ones, job, health, friends, home, etc., you know what it feels like to be exhausted, overwhelmed, and close to a mental meltdown. But there is good news, you don't have to feel that way anymore. Jesus has invited you to come to Him and He will give you rest. Let's look a little further.
In Matthew 11:29-30, Jesus says "Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light." Jesus is telling us if we would take on his ways and do the things that He tells us to do, we will have rest. Not just physical rest, but mental and emotional rest as well. Who doesn't want that!
In this life, we will always have things to deal with. However, the way we choose to deal with them is key. We can trust the Lord  to lead and guide us in the direction as to where we should go, or we can go it alone. If we allow the Lord to order our footsteps, if we seek Him for daily instructions, and if we allow Him lead and we follow, we won't have to feel like we are going to break down. There is no need for us to continue to suffer unnecessarily. We will suffer enough just being a follower of Christ, but to add unnecessary suffering to out lives is not wise.
How will you respond to your invitation from the Lord? Will you ignore it and continue being burden down, or will you RSVP and receive the rest of the Lord? THE CHOICE IS YOURS!!!!!!!!!!!
But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Matthew 6:33
