And as he entered into a certain village, there met him ten men that were lepers, which stood afar off: And they lifted up their voices, and said, Jesus, Master, have mercy on us. And when he saw them, he said unto them, Go shew yourselves unto the priests. And it came to pass, that, as they went, they were cleansed. Luke 17:11-14
We have to choose to live if we want to have the promises of God. There will always be some kind of obstacle or challenge that will arise in our lives. However, our faith in God is what keeps us joyful an at peace at this thought. It is our faith in God that let us know that we will overcome the situation because God is fighting our battle for us.
Hebrews 11:6, tells us that without faith, it is impossible to please God. It is through our faith that we are connected to Him. Therefore, when life challenges come about, we go to God in prayer instead of man.
The ten lepers in the above scripture knew that Jesus could heal them. They had faith that if they asked Him to, He would. They cried out to Jesus to have mercy on them; and He did.
When we ask God to work on our behalf, there is always a part that we must play. If you read about the miracles Jesus performed, He always had the recipient(s) to do something inorder to receive what they were asking for. This was them putting their faith in action. Rmember that faith without works is dead - James 2:17.
Jesus told the ten lepers to "go shew yourselves unto the priests." Because of their obedience, they were cleansed. We have to remember that when we ask God to work on our behalf, we too will have to be obedient to what He tells us to do if we want His help. We have to remember that how long it takes us to comply with God, determines how soon we will receive our blessing. Faith only works when we work it; it doesn't work because we have it. Also, faith doesn't demand details: it just obeys. Plain and simple.
If you plan on living on purpose, you have to trust God completely. Trust Him to do what He tells you to do, and to go where He tells you to go; even when you don't understand it.
From this day forth, lets make a conscious decision to obey that which God tells us to do-no questions asked. It will be hard at first because we are so use to doing our own thing, but with practice, we can do it. The more we do it, the better we become, and the more blessings we receive. IN JESUS' NAME, AMEN.
And he said unto him, Arise, go thy way: thy faith hath made thee whole. Luke 17:19
