Then cometh he to his disciples, and saith unto them, Sleep on now, and take your rest: behold, the hour is at hand, and the Son of man is betrayed into the hands of sinners. Matthew 26:45
Talking about peace! Here we have Jesus who has come to turns with the fate that He has been destined to fulfill. If you read the scripture in its entirety, you will see that it was a process for Him to get the peace that He ended up with. In the beginning, after arriving at Gethsemane, He told his disciples that His soul was very sorrowful. He asked them to sit and watch as He went to pray. As He went to pray, Jesus was distrought about what was about to happen; to the point of asking the Father to not allow what was about to happen, to happen. Then He goes on to say, "not as I will, but as thou wilt." The second time, as He prayed, you can began to see peace coming upon His grieving heart. He goes on to say this time, "O my Father, if this cup may not pass away from me, except I drink it, thy will be done." As He went the third time to pray, He said the same prayer. But this time as He returned to the disciples, He is at peace; He has accepted that this is the Will of His Father, and tells the disciples to sleep on and take their rest. Keep in mind that the first two times that Jesus would return to the disciples, He would find them asleep. How aggravating it must have been for Him to bring His friends with Him to pray about a tramatic experience that was about to take place, only to find them asleep during His time of need. It was bad enough that He was about to suffer tremendously for their sakes (as well as ours), yet they were sleeping while His soul was disturbed. Talking about added pressure! BUT GOD!! God took away all the worry, anxiety, depression, hurt, anguish, and everything else that Jesus felt during this time: afterall, He was human at this time. God gave Him peace, strength, and confidence to fulfill His will. And Jesus did just that! HALLELUJAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
When you find yourself in a chaotic situation, just remember that God can and will give unto you the same peace that He gave Jesus during His time of need. Just because we feel like all hell has broken loose around us, doesn't mean that God cannot supply our need. It is during this time that when we are weak, that we are made strong through Jesus (see 2Corinthians 12:10).
Never let your situations make you feel that they are too big or too hard for God to handle; because that is not true. That is an attack of the enemy to distract you from the One who can help you overcome. There is nothing too big or too hard for God. There is nothing that He can't handle. However, we have to invite Him into our lives inorder for Him to help us. He will not impose on us, nor will He force us to receive Him. We have to choose. My advice to you is to choose Him; and do it quickly.
No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper: and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD. Isaiah 54:17
