Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God. 1Corinthians 6:9-11
Thank you Jesus! Isn't it wonderful to know that we have been granted access to the kingdom of God through the blood of Jesus!! I think it is totally amazing that after all of the unrighteous things we have done (knowingly and unknowingly), that God loves us so much to offer His only beggotten Son as a sacrifice for you and me.
If you have ever done a comparison of the Old Testament with the New Testament, you appreciate what Jesus' birth, death, burial, and resurrection has done for us. If you haven't done the comparison, I recommend that you do.
In the Old Testament, we were denied access to God's kingdom because of Adam's disobedience. But through the blood of Jesus, access has been granted. We no longer have to continue with a life of sin. We don't have to live in guilt, shame, and condemnation of things that we have done. We can live free in Jesus, knowing that He died to take away our sins. If we continue to hold on to them, then that's on us. However, our sins have been taking away.
Before we came to Christ, we did some things that are what I like to call "the unmentionables." They are just to despicable to say. Things that seemed like the right thing to do at the time, but now that we have come into the knowledge, realize that we made poor choices. BUT GOD! He loves us even when we are unlovable. His love for us is so great that He doesn't ever take it away (but God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us-Romans 5:8). WHAT A MIGHTY GOD WE SERVE!
Take some time out to really study God's Word; I mean to the point where you really embrace the unconditional love that God has for us. Who else will show that kind of love toward us, especially at those times when were doing anything and everything but living a Godly life? Only God can love us through a life of ungodliness into a life of holiness. Think about all the times you were unlovable, and God showed you love anyway. Thank Him for His unconditional love. Thank Him for His grace and mercy that He has given you. Don't let the cares of this world, or the things you did in the past, keep you from receiving God's unconditional love.
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation. 2 Corinthians 5:17-18
