And he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with gravesclothes: and his face was bound about with a napkin. Jesus saith unto them, Loose him, and let him go. John 11:44
I remember hearing this story about a woman who was living a Christian life; following the Word of God in word and deed. She was married to this man who was not a Christian at all. The more she lived for Christ, it seem the angrier he got. When she would go to church and come home, he would be mean to her. She continued to do what she knew in her heart to do; live according to the Word of God. The more she did, the worse he would be. One cold Sunday she went to church as she always did. When she came home, he had locked her out of the house. She could not get into the house that they shared as husband and wife. Because of his action, she was forced to sleep outside in the cold. The next morning, when he decided to open the door, she went in and prepared breakfast for him as usual. She wasn't mean to him. She treated him as she always had; with the love of God. She had no animosity or hostility towards him at all. Because of the love that she continued to show towards him inspite of the way he treated her, made him put forth the effort to change. He gave his life to Christ!
We have to remember that we serve a God who can do the impossible. I'm sure she had been praying for her husband to be saved, but wasn't seeing any possibilities. BUT GOD! The love of God that showed through this woman convinced her husband to become a better person; a saved person. Thank you Jesus!!
We don't know how God will work out situations that occur in our lives. What we do know is that we are called as Christian to display and attitude and lifestyle that represents God at all time. Jesus was given to us as our example that we can live the life God has called for us to live. We just have to stand on His Word and act accordingly.
Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven; and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. Matthew 18:18
