Then King David went in and sat before the LORD, and he said: "Who am I, O Sovereign LORD, and what is my family, that you have brought me this far? And and if this were not enough in your sight, O Sovereign LORD, you have also spoken about the future of the house of your servant. Is this your usual way of dealing with man O Sovereign LORD?" 1Samuel 7:18-19 (NIV)
What is a place of this far that David is speaking of? This is a place where we receive favor/blessings from God according to God's way of caring, supervising, and protecting His children as we remain in His will. It is the peace that comes from walking daily in His presence. This is a time for rejoicing, celebrating, praising God for all that He has done for us.
When was the last time you have become mindful of all the blessings and favor that God has bestowed upon you, and then taken a moment to thank Him for them? If it wasn't recently, maybe you should do it now. God is so worthy to be praise. He blesses us each day. Even if we don't get today what we are waiting for, He has still given us the blessing of today, our health, strength, and clothed us in our right mind; you know, those things we tend to take for granted because we get so caught up in the cares of this world.
Today, take some time out to let God know how much you appreciate everything He has done, is doing, and will do in your life. Just as we like to feel appreciated by those we love, God wants the same thing. Not only does He want it, He deserves it! IN JESUS' NAME, AMEN.
"How great you are, O Sovereign LORD! There is none like you, and there is no God but you, as we have heard with our own ears." 1Samuel 7:22 (NIV)
