And her adversary also provoked her sore, for to make her fret, because the LORD had shut up her womb. And as he did so year by year, when she went up to the house of the LORD, so she provoked her; therefore she wept, and did not eat. 1Samuel 6-7
Who or what is provoking you? What is happening in your life that is being use to make you move in the direction that God wants you to move in? What has God told you to do, and you have refused to do it? What has made you so comfortable that you feel there is no need to fulfill your purpose that God has predestined for you?
There are times when God will make us uncomfortable so that we will seek Him. Then there are times when God will send people in our lives to provoke us, so that we will know what He can do; if He blessed them, He will bless us to. Or He will bless people around us to create a thirst in us. Regardless of the reason, just know that with purpose comes pain.
The fulfillment of purpose starts with pain. No pain, no gain; right! However, if there wasn't any pain, we wouldn't seek God; as sad as that may sound. The reality of it is that you never discover your purpose until you know the core of your pain. You must know the root of your desire and not let anything or anyone deter you from it.
We have to learn to seek the LORD for everything. Though we may think we know what we want or need, God is the only one who truly knows what we need and should have. He knows what is beneficial to us. He has our best interest at heart at all times. He also knows what it will take for us to move to where He has predestined for us to be.
Yes, God will provoke us! Afterall, if He didn't, some of us wouldn't move!!
Whatever is causing you discomfort, you may want to evaluate the source of this discomfort and why this is occuring in your life at this time. It could be that you are being PROVOKED...on purpose. BE BLESSED.
And she was in bitterness of soul, and prayed unto the LORD, and wept sore.Wherefore it came to pass, when the time had come about after Hannah had conceived , that she bare a son, and called his name Samuel, saying, Because I have asked him of the LORD. 1 Samuel 1:10, 20
