I WILL lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth. Psalm 121:1-2
Question for today- What or who have you put you security in?
Webster Dictionary defines security as confidence of safety; surety; that which secures or makes safe.
Years of studying God's Word, along with living in this world, has taught me that true security in only found in God. He is the only One who can protect us from all hurt, harm or danger; seen and unseen. He never sleeps nor slumber.
Psalm 121:7-8 says, "The LORD shall preserve thee from evil: he shall preserve thy soul. The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore." Now That's Security!
We live in a world where a lot of emphasis is put on having security system in your home, cameras all around, people being used as body guards, etc., etc., etc. I'm not saying that there is anything wrong with that. It's just that those things have to be monitor by people who are just that, people. They have needs just like we do and one of those needs is sleep. Peolple need rest so that they can be refreshed and alert to do the job they were hired to do. Therefore, there is a time period where you are not protected. BUT GOD! He never sleeps nor slumber (see Psalm 121:4). He is always there, watching over you, protecting you. There is no period where we are not protected. WHAT A MIGHTY GOD WE SERVE!!!
There are so many benefits in being a child of God. Having continual security is one of them. But don't just take my word for it. Try Him for yourself. Get to know Him, develop a relationship with Him, and see Him do just what His Word says. IN JESUS' NAME, AMEN.
O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him. Psalm 34:8
