Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.
Are you one of those people who have ask God on numerous occasions to bless you with a million dollars? If so, then I have a word for you.
The above scripture is about blessings beyond measure. Sometimes we value ourselves by the tangible things we own: money in the bank, houses, cars, jobs, etc. We feel that these things represents our status in life. We count up how much these items equal in value, and put that same price tag on us. But how many of you know that if you are a child of God, who is living according to His word, that you are worth more than those things you see. You are a royal priesthood; an heir of God, and joint-heir of Jesus Christ. You are a child of the God who created EVERYTHING! YOU ARE PRICELESS!!
If you are obeying the Word of God, then you already have everything you need and then some. You don't have to ask Him for a million dollars, because you already know that you have whatever that million dollars can buy.
God blesses and favor can overtake us if we allow His word to operate in our lives. He tells us in John 10:10, ..."I Am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly." Now I don't know what your definition of abundantly is, but I know mind's is to the fullest; rich in supply; overflow.
Something else to look at, we don't just have this here on earth, but also in heaven (read Revelation 21). Who wouldn't serve an awesome God like this? One who thinks so highly of us that he blesses us abundantly in this life, and the one to come.
Don't get so caught up in the things which you see or possess. Those things want last. As fast as you receive them, they start to depreciate in value. Set your sight on the things which are above. Things that won't depreciate in value and will last throughout eternity. Those things which are of God that will cause Him as well as everyone else to call you blessed. IN JESUS' NAME, AMEN.
While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal. 2 Corinthians 17:18
