And when he came to himself, he said, How many hired servants of my father's have bread enough and to spare and I perish with hunger! I will arise and go to my father...Luke 15:17
Repeat After Me: I Changed My Mind!
It is good to change our mind about a situation that's not working for us.
Have you or someone you know, experienced a similar situation as the prodigal son? So eager to leave home, only to find out that it's not easy living on your own. That there are sacrifices to be made and discipline needed inorder to pay bills. Once you are out there, you find that because of your refusal to exercise self-control, you end up back home.
It would have been easier for you to have listen to your parents, allowed yourself to become established on a job, and saved your money (which requires discipline), so that when you did move out, you wouldn't have to return.
We think we know what's best for us only to find out that making decisions on impulse breeds destruction.
Just as we take our parents for granted, we take God for granted as well. We ask Him for things we aren't even prepared to receive. Then when we receive it, we mishandle or misuse it; only to return to God ( our Father) once more in need of help. When all we had to to do was wait on Him and trust that in due time, we would receive our blessing.
My advice to you is to read the parable of the prodigal son, study it, and examine yourself so that you want suffer the same misfortune.
Just as the father received his son back, our parents receives us back, so does God; even though we refused to listen to Him in the first place. THANK YOU LORD!!!!
For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found...Luke 15:24
