Planning Ahead

And Elijah said unto Ahab, Get thee up, eat and drink; for there is a sound of abundance of rain. So Ahab went up to eat and to drink... vs 44 ...and he said, Go up, say unto Ahab, Prepare thy chariot, and get thee down, that the rain stop thee not. 1Kings 18:41-42,44
Are you prepared for your blessing? If the Lord sent your blessing- that which you have been asking Him for, would you be ready to receive it? Think about it. Often times, we ask God to bless us with things that we have not prepared ourselves to receive. When we go before the Lord in prayer, we need to go with expectancy in our hearts that we will receive that which was asked for. If there is no expectation, why bother to ask. Just as a child would ask his/her parents for something, and expect to receive it, we should therefore expect the same of our Heavenly Father.
In the above scripture, Elijah was expecting God to answer his prayer for rain during the time of drought. Elijah was so sure that God was going to answer his prayer, that he told Ahab to go and prepare for the rain. It takes faith to believe that God is going to do what you asked Him to do. But it takes radical faith to tell someone else to prepare for what you are believing God for, and for them to actually do it.
How many times have you told someone about what you were expecting God to do in your life, and they either didn't believe you or thought you were crazy for asking for it, and even crazier for expecting God to bless you with it? That's why you have to be careful about who you share your dreams/visions with. Doubt and unbelief from those you hold dear to you can cause you to doubt God's ability and therefore cause you not to receive your blessings.
If Ahab would have doubted Elijah's ability to get a prayer through to God, and to have it answered, he would not have been prepared for the rain that came. And had Elijah had any doubt that God would answer his prayer, he would not have witness the abundance of rain that came.
Make sure that whatever you have asked God for, you have made preparations to receive it. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
And it came to pass in the mean while, that the heaven was black with clouds and wind, and there was a great rain...
1Kings 18:45
