For we walk by faith, not by sight. 2 Corinthians 5:7
As Christians, we have learned that we do not live our lives focusing on how a situation may look; but rather on the victory that we will obtain once the battle is over. We have learned that the battle is not ours, but the Lord's and that our victory is in Him- for He has overcome everything!
Hebrews 11:1 says, "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." Meaning that we are believing for something that we do not see at the present time. Often times, we allow our eyes to lose sight of the power of God and what he has promised us in His Word because we become distracted by our current situation. Instead of seeking God in prayer as soon as the problem arises, we immediately take on God's role, and try to fix it ourselves; resulting in unneccessary pain, suffering, frustration that didn't have to be. If we could only remember to seek the Lord in every situation or decision we make, we will save ourselves a lot of time that can be spent doing something else.
Although we know that faith is simply believing, it is not enough to just believe. You have to act as if what you are believing God for is going to come to pass. Meaning, you have to get yourself ready to receive your blessing. James 2:17 says,"Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone." If you are not behaving as if your blessing is on the way, is it realistic to say that you have faith? I remember when God put in on my heart to start Straight Talk Ministry. It first started with the idea to teach an adult class, educating parents on various issues that our teenagers are faced with on a daily basis. After the concept was preceived, then came preparation for the class; how often to have the class, where to have the class, what time to have the class, introduction of class, materials to be used, etc., etc., etc. If I hadn't believed God for the vision, prepared myself for the vision to come to pass, I would have missed my opportunity for God's Word to be made manifest in my life ( to date, I have been successfully teaching the Straight Talk Class since October 2010). GOD IS GOOD!
I'm not saying it will always be easy to step out on faith ( remember nothing worth having is never easy- you have to work for it), but what I am saying is that if we have faith in God and His Word, trust Him to perform His Word, and remember our past blessings that came from operating in faith, we will find it is much easier to work with Him than against Him. God is faithful, God can not lie, and God is a rewarded of them who diligently seek him.
REMEMBER: But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. Hebrews 11:6
