....weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning. Psalm 30:5
Today, I went to a wake for a 10 week old infant. I have never seen a coffin so small. Grief filled the air as friends and loved ones entered one by one to view and say goodbye. Know one really knew what to say, they just knew they wanted to say something; even if it was just to offer their condolescence.
Looking at a coffin so small, brought tears to your eyes whether you wanted to cry or not. Thinking about a life that has ended before it has had a chance to get started, made my heart consumed with grief. My heart goes out to the parents and grandparents of this child. Being a mother of three, and a grandmother of three, I can only imagine how they are feeling.
As I struggle to hold it together and keep my feelings in check, I began to pray for everyone there who was grieving for this dear child. I asked God to show Himself strong on behalf of this family. I asked Him to comfort them, and to send His peace to them. I asked Him to use this situation to restore this family and also to save souls.
After I finished praying, I realized I didn't feel as sad as I had before. I could feel God's Spirit talking to me;helping me put my emotions in perspective. He reminded me that He had answered the prayers even though we may not understand His way. He also reminded me that even though the family is grieving for this baby, she is actually better off than we are. She is a home with Him, not having to worry about the cares of this world. Although it is hard to rationalize this when it's someone close and dear to you, but when we finally come to terms with what has taken place, then and only then can we grasp hold to this spiritual reality.
In Proverbs 3:5-6, we are told to, "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths." During difficult times, that is exactly what we have to do. We have to put total trust in God to lead and guide us through and to the place where our peace and joy is restored. Trust Him to bring back laughter in our lives, joy in our hearts, appreciation for each day we wake up, and the desire to give Him praise. May you look to God for everything you need; regardless to how big or small you think it is. May you find comfort in knowing that He is here to help you during your time of need. HE WILL NEVER LEAVE YOU NOR FORSAKE YOU!
REMEMBER: DON'T WORRY ABOUT ANYTHING, PRAY ABOUT EVERYTHING, THANK GOD FOR EVERYTHING. IN JESUS' NAME, AMEN
Then he said unto them, Go your way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send portions unto them for whom nothing is prepared: for this day is holy unto the Lord: neither be ye sorry; for the joy of the Lord is your strength.
