The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. John 10:10
Have you given any thought to the amount of distractions that come about in your day that keeps you from completing those things you have set out to do? What about those things that we have been blessed with, that keeps us from serving God or fellowship with Him and the saints?
We pray and ask God to bless us with jobs, finances, houses, cars, spouses, etc. And when we receive these things, we allow them to distract us from the One who blessed us with them. We stop coming to church, stop reading the Word of God, some of us even stop praying (until that next crisis come about). But have you ever thought how that makes God feel? How does it make you feel when that friend or love one comes around you all the time until they get what they want? It doesn't feel good does it?
The bible tells us that the thief comes to steal, kill, and destroy. Since we have knowledge of this, lets stop allowing him to distracts us from the One whom deserves the best of everything we have. I often tell my students that time is the one thing you can't get back, so you need to be very careful of how you are spending your time. The same applies to us as adult. Let's not get so caught up in the blessings and forget about the Blessor. God has been and still is so good to us. He is always there -we are never alone! With that being said, we need to make a conscious effort to not allow the distractions of this world to keep us from serving God. In Jesus' Name, Amen
