Food For Thought

Yesterday I was clever and wanted to change the world. Today I am wise, so I am changing myself.
                                                Rumi

Oh, how better the world would be if we all would spend as much time working on ourselves that we expend trying to change others. Using tactics we deem appropriate, to bully people into being who we want them to be or do what we want them to do.

Quote For Today

It is wise to direct your anger toward problems, not people; to focus your energies on answers, not excuses.
               William Arthur Ward

It's Time To Move

We have much to say about this, but it is hard to make it clear to you because you no longer try to understand. In fact, though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you the elementary truths of God's word all over again. You need milk, not solid food!
                                            Hebrews 5:11-12 (NIV)

Here in this scripture, Paul tells the Hebrews that they should be further along than they are.

Fighting The Help

And the whole congregation of the children of Israel murmured against Moses and Aaron in the wilderness....
                                         Exodus 16:2

In chapter 3 of Exodus, God chose Moses to lead the children of Israel out of Egypt. He tells Moses that He has seen theirafflictionand heard theircryconcerning the treatment of their taskmasters and He knows theirsorrow. Later in chapter 16, after being delivered out of Egypt, the children of Israel murmured against Moses and Aaron saying, "If only we had died by the Lord's hand in Egypt!

Be Thankful

Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.
                                                 Psalm 100:4

A truly thankful person is a truly peaceful person. They've created a habit, that no matter what, they will notice, pause, and choose- choosing to be thankful regardless of the circumstances.

As Thanksgiving Day is approaching, let us choose to notice something for which we can be thankful for; pause, so that we can acknowledge this something as a reminder of the presence of God; and choose to focus on God's presence until His peace is unleashed in our lives.

Food For Thought

Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.
                                                                               Psalm 1:1

This scripture is telling us:
Don't listen to a fool
Don't adopt their ways

Do You

But the people that doknowtheir God shallbestrong, anddoexploits.
                                                Daniel 11:32b

How much time do we spend being our authentic self vs being who others think we should be or who our parents think we should be? A few years ago, upon my journey of self-discovery, I realized that I had spent many years being who other people expected me to be than being my authentic self.

Possessions As Masters

For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
                                            Matthew 6:21

Have you ever notice how the material things we possess have become our masters instead of us mastering them. We make purchases based on our desires-homes, cars, cell phones, computer gadgets, etc., only to find that the very thing we had to have is the thing or things that's stressing us out.

Loyal To Dysfunction

For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he....
                          Proverbs 23:7

I read this article in Home Business Magazine titled,  New Habits: Break Out of That Rut which stated that "fear and self-limiting beliefs create imaginary boundaries that keep us from acting in our own best interest." Reason being is that our brain is wired to resist change. Getting stuck in a rut doesn't happen overnight, but slowly over a period of time as we think or behave in the same way.

Weight Loss Regimen

Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us.
                                                       Hebrews 12:1

Most of the extra weight we are carrying is not coming from pounds put on from unhealthy eating.
